Two Stories and Helping a Gamer

New York law proposes limiting the sale of games with Racial Language

Keith L.T. Wright, a democrat of Manhattan, has proposed a bill that seeks to restrict the sale of games with questionable content to minors. Specifically, it would prohibit "the sale to minors of certain rated video games containing a rating that reflects content of various degrees of profanity, racist stereotypes or derogatory language, and/or actions toward a specific group of persons." The exact law was proposed in 2007 by the same assemblyman, but failed to pass.

The other problem is deciding who gets to determine what content is racist or derogatory. This is why the law will fail. It's a freedom of speech issue and people that do not agree with the content don't have to buy the game. It's probably a good idea for parents to actually pay attention to what their kids are playing and watching.

Andrew Lloyd-Webber wants his music in Games

Andrew Lloyd-Webber's Really Useful Group is working on a series of music games based on Lloyd-Webber's award-winning musicals. Here is a quote from http://www.paidcontent.org/entry/419-lloyd-webber-breaking-in-to-games-singalong-with-evita-phantom/

"The group, founded in 1977 to run Lloyd-Webber’s stage, TV, music and other interests, has been speaking with half-a-dozen international game publishers, believed to include EA, aiming to develop titles over several years across consoles, PCs and mobile, as part of its multimedia expansion. The group says two industry shifts have prompted its interest: the emergence of more female gamers in the traditionally male-dominated game consumer demographic, and the popularity of singing- and music-based titles like Playstation’s Singstar and Xbox’s Lips. Guitar Hero maker Harmonix’s forthcoming Beatles performance game also shows how music brands can be translated into play. The first Lloyd-Webber titles will let players sing along as characters in the composer’s shows and could involve elements of 'audition,' just like in his BBC shows I’d Do Anything and How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria? and last year’s Lloyd-Webber-themed episode of American Idol."

Anyone think this will happen? I doubt it will, but I would love it. "YOU ARE MY ANGEL OF MUSIC!!!!" FTW!!!

A Gamer In Need, Needs You!

I recently received an email with someone asking me to post a link to help him get Sign-ups so he could get Xbox Live. I knew that this gamer needed my help! Let me tell you if it was up to me there would be options for people to be able to play on Xbox Live for free, but the fact is that Microsoft just wants more money to "keep innovations coming to the gaming industry", or pay for Bill Gates "Retirement Fund". Basically, this gamer asked me to post a link for you to go to help him. Click on the picture PLZ!

Wanna see the most beautiful game ever?

Well you are going to have to wait only about one more month to see it come out. This new exclusive game to the PS3 is going to be one of the most innovative games to come out in 2009. More details to come. I will leave you with a screenshot.

Bethesda Studios level up to Level 30?

Does anyone have any stimpacks? I'm all out of caps and out of stimpacks and I need to get my rush. Damn, time to start my life of stealing for caps again or you could just wait for just wait for the new DLC(Downloadable Content) for Fallout 3. Bethesda is going to offer players the ability to level up to level 30 in March with the "Broken Steel" DLC. DLC will be coming out every month guys so just be paitent and wait for it.

One of the big things in story telling for video games right now is continueing a story that already exists and just broadenning it a little bit to bring gamers content that is worth the price that they are paying for. While Fable II is doing the same thing, I am more excited to see Fallout 3's DLC. Ok enough of the small talk; lets get into discussing the DLC that is coming out in Bethesda's latests game, Fallout 3.

With G.E.C.K.(The Garden of Eden Kit) already released for the PC version of the game, the 360 is waiting for its first DLC coming out this month. The first word that I thought of after I saw the title of the DLC, Operation Anchorage, was unfortunately "Palin". Fortunately, Sarah Palin will not be a part of the game(or maybe its an easter egg; THAT WOULD BE 1337!). Ok, time to get serious. Operation Anchorage is going to be in Alaska during China's invasion. I am fairly certain that this has been true through Fallout 1's and Fallout 2's history, but I am not 100% confident since I never got to play the orginal PC classics. You are going to be paying $10 or 800 Microsoft Points to get the expansion.

More information about Fallout 3 DLC, stay tuned here or on TheNerdiestKids website. Peace and love guys!
